Belle Mare is a small village found in the eastern coast of Mauritius. It is famous for its fine white sand and lukewarm water. It has a fish landing station. The abandoned limekiln is used as a viewpoint as it gives a wonderful view. Belle Mare is well known for its onion plantations. The land is fully exploited all the year round thanks to irrigation implemented by the Mauritius Irrigation Authority. Just one mile from the beach there are many well known hotels namely Saint Geran, Belle Mare Plage, Coco Beach Hotel and Ambre Hotel. Land sports facilities such as French bowling, golf, mini golf, squash, table tennis and beach volleyball can be enjoyed by all age groups. Aqua sports and activities like wind surfing, trips on glass-bottomed boats and pedalos, snorkeling and kayaking are also accessible to the tourists staying in that particular coastal region whereby they entertain themselves. The Water Park is situated in the village of Belle Mare itself. It is a place consisting of Adults’ and Kids’ Pool, Bumper Car, Swinger, Jacuzzi and many other leisure activities. After all these playful activities one can quench his thirst and hunger with delicious menus and drinks at the available Food Court. Tourists can undoubtedly spend a superb relaxing day with friends and family together. It is to be noted that entry at Water Park is not free of charge; however the fee is different for adult and children. Today many services and amenities are available in this coastal village. A new Recreation Center for Senior Citizens has been set up by the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Senior citizens Welfare & Reform Institutions to cater for the increasing demand for recreational services by Senior Citizens Associations. A Primary School has recently been established to educate the children dwelling in the vicinity. In addition, there is no lackness for restaurants and shopping malls visited by the tourists who add to the economy of Mauritius by their expenditure. Thus the inhabitants of Belle Mare and of the surrounding regions get job facilities in hotels as well as in restaurants. The villagers are honored to live in a touristic developed environment. Belle Mare is the favorite destination for tourists in our paradise called Mauritius.
Belle Mare is a village with 1500 inhabitants and forms part of the Quatre Cocos village council area. It has no school or college. There are about two hundred primary students who studied at Quatre Coco Government School and 150 secondary students who are studying at Central Flacq Colleges Next year it is having its own primary school with the help of the Chinese government. With the rapid change and growth of the Belle Mare beach infrastructure it may becomes a tourist site in the next three year with its beautiful beach. The nearby attractive beaches along the eastern coast of the district of Flacq namely Belle Mare, Palmar ,Trou D’eau Douce and Ile aux cerfs had widely expanded to give a tourist site to holidays makers and holidays planners. The 3’s element, sun, sea and sand have enhanced the real beauty of the environments prevailing at these villages. Deep sea fishing, boating tours for leisure activities, big game fishing, scuba diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, sea excursions, catamaran cruise on the coast , the rapid development of the tourist sector and the services offered by the tourist hotel have increased considerably the commercial, economical and trading activities of the surrounding people in the whole villages. The tourist industry has flourished to give employment to the whole community at Belle Mare. New Star hotels are planning to start business in the village and the villagers also are building bungalows, hotels, restaurant , night club and gaming houses to attract all holidays maker on visit at Belle Mare. In the weekend many people find time to enjoy the major attractions of the beach which looks very magnificent with the blue sea as well as the coral reefs and the white sand. As it is doing very hot there is no better place than the sea and the beach to relaxed and enjoy.
