Quatre Bornes is one of the several towns located in the district of the Plaines Wilhems and the others are Beau Bassin, Rose Hill, Vacoas-Phoenix and Curepipe. Quatre Bornes is assigned constituency number 18 by the Electoral Boundaries in regards to election for the legislative assembly.

Quatre Bornes is commonly known as 'La Ville des Fleurs' and has a mild and nice climate. Famous shopping centres have emerged during the past years namely the Trianon Shopping Park with prestigous brand like Shoprite, Game, Courts, Marbella,etc... and the Emerald Park with Mr Bricolage, PrideMark and Imperial China Restaurant, to name a few.

Orchard Tower on the high street-St Jean Road- is also a good meeting point, well situated near the market, taxi stand, bus station.

The market place is a must for everyone, locals as foreigners where you can have almost everything ranging from fruits and vegetables to clothing garments, on different days of the week..

I live at Ragoopath Avenue, Palma, Quatre Bornes. I like the place where I live because it is calm. I have all the facilities nearby my house. There is a dispensary, community centre, bakery, school and college. My town is known as the La Ville des Fleurs. Indeed we have different green places which have created by the updating and renovating erstwhile railway track and creating many more green spaces.

The multiple purpose complex halls offers indoor games and combines courses of yoga , aerobic classes, and handicraft training. Quatre Bornes is mainly are residential town with good climate and a large expatriate population and a conductive environment for social and cultural activities.

The Municipal Council of Quatre Bornes organizes big functions to mark Divali, Maha Shivaratree, Eid, Spring festival and Christmas. It has 3 hypermarkets. With the coming up of Ebene cyber city the town will see the presence of a large number of technical experts living here. Quatre Bornes is now poised to be come hi-tech town.
